1. About these terms
These terms (the “Terms”) are a contract between you and CrossaPay Limited (“CrossaPay”, “we”, “us”). They apply whenever you create an account, get a quote or send money with CrossaPay on our website. Our Privacy Policy and Complaints and Refund Policy form part of these Terms.
CrossaPay Limited is registered with the Bank of Ghana as an International Money Transfer Operator (registration number IMTO/2026/bi50) for inward international remittance services into Ghana.
By ticking the box when you register, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms.
2. Who can use CrossaPay
- You must be at least 18 years old and live in Ghana or Nigeria.
- You may hold only one account, in your own name, for your own use. You must not open an account for someone else or let anyone else use yours.
- The information you give us — your name, email address, phone number and country — must be true and kept up to date.
3. Your account and its security
- Keep your password private and use a password you don’t use anywhere else. We recommend turning on two-step sign-in in Profile → Security.
- We will never ask for your password, your bank or mobile money PIN, or any one-time code. Anyone who asks for them is not CrossaPay.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account or made a transfer you didn’t authorise. We will help you secure your account.
- You are responsible for transfers made from your account using your sign-in details, unless they were made after you told us your account was compromised, or the law says otherwise.
4. Checks, limits and verification
- The law requires us to know who our customers are and to watch for fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions breaches. We check transfers before payment and again before paying them out.
- Your account has sending limits (per transfer, per day, per month and, without identity verification, in total). Your current limits are shown in Profile → Limits.
- We may ask you for more information or documents, and we may delay, hold or refuse a transfer while we review it. Where the law prevents us from explaining why, we may not be able to tell you the reason.
5. What CrossaPay does
CrossaPay sends money between Ghana and Nigeria:
- From Ghana, you pay in Ghanaian cedi (GHS) by Mobile Money. The payment request is sent to your phone and you approve it there.
- From Nigeria, you pay in Nigerian naira (NGN) by bank transfer to a one-time account number that we show on the payment page. The account is for that payment only and expires after the time shown.
- Your recipient is paid in their local currency to the bank account or mobile money wallet you choose.
Payments and payouts are processed by our payment partner, Flutterwave. CrossaPay is not a bank. We do not hold a balance for you and do not pay interest: the money you pay is used only for the transfer you asked for, or is refunded to you.
6. Quotes, fees and exchange rates
- Before you pay, we show you the amount you send, our fee, the exchange rate, the total you pay and the amount your recipient will receive.
- Each quote has an expiry time. If it expires before you confirm, we show you a new quote. We never charge you a rate you didn’t accept.
- Our exchange rate is based on a live market reference rate, adjusted by the margin shown on our Fees page.
- For bank transfers in Nigeria, Flutterwave may add its own bank-transfer charge to the amount to pay. If it does, the payment page shows the exact amount to send and the charge included, before you pay.
- Your bank, mobile money provider or your recipient’s provider may charge their own fees. These are outside our control.
7. Paying for a transfer
- Pay the exact amount shown, from an account or wallet in your own name, before the payment deadline. Unpaid transfers expire.
- We treat your payment as received only when our payment partner confirms it to us — not when you send it, and not because of a screenshot or receipt.
- If you pay less than the amount shown, nothing is sent: we hold the transfer, contact you and refund what you paid so you can start again.
- If you pay more than the amount shown, we complete the transfer and refund the extra amount to you.
- If you pay after the deadline, or more than once, we will refund the payment that isn’t needed.
8. Your recipient’s details
- You are responsible for giving us your recipient’s correct name and account or mobile money number. Where available we show the name registered to a bank account before you save it — please check it.
- If you give us wrong details and the money is paid into the account you specified, we cannot reverse it, but we will ask the receiving bank or provider to help recover it. We can’t promise that recovery will succeed.
9. When a transfer is complete
- We only mark a transfer as completed when our payout partner confirms that the recipient’s bank or mobile money provider has received the money.
- How long a transfer takes depends on your payment method and on the recipient’s bank or provider. We don’t promise a fixed delivery time, but you can follow every step in your dashboard.
- If a payout doesn’t go through, we retry it automatically. If it still can’t be completed, we refund you in full, including our fee.
- You receive a receipt for every transfer. Please keep it.
10. Cancelling a transfer and refunds
- You can cancel a transfer in your dashboard at any time before you pay. You are not charged.
- Once you have paid, contact us. If the payout hasn’t been completed, we will refund you in full to the account or wallet you paid from.
- A completed payout can’t be cancelled.
Full details are in our Complaints and Refund Policy.
11. What you must not do
You must not use CrossaPay:
- for anything illegal, including fraud, scams, money laundering, terrorist financing or getting around sanctions;
- to send money on behalf of someone else, or to pay for illegal goods or services;
- with money that isn’t yours, or with a payment account or wallet that isn’t in your name;
- to break into, overload, copy or interfere with our website or systems, or to give us false information.
If we reasonably believe you have done any of these, we may refuse or hold transfers, close your account and report the matter to the authorities where the law requires.
12. Suspending or closing your account
- You can ask us to close your account at any time. Transfers already paid for will be completed or refunded first.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if we must by law, or to protect you or others from fraud. Unless the law prevents us, we will tell you.
- We keep certain records after your account is closed, as our Privacy Policy explains.
13. Our responsibility to you
- We provide CrossaPay with reasonable care and skill. If a transfer goes wrong because of our mistake, we will put it right or refund the amount you paid, including our fee.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by: wrong details you gave us; delays or refusals by banks, mobile money providers or other parties outside our control; events beyond our reasonable control (such as network or power failures, or action by authorities); or our compliance with the law.
- We are not responsible for indirect losses, or for lost profits or business opportunities.
- Unless the law requires otherwise, our total responsibility for any transfer is limited to the amount you paid for it, including our fee.
- Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
14. Website availability
We work to keep CrossaPay available but can’t promise it will always be. We may pause the service for maintenance or security, and we will try to give notice when we can.
15. How we contact you
We contact you by email, through your dashboard and, if you allow it, by text message. Make sure your email address is correct and check it regularly — we send receipts and important notices there.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. We will tell you about important changes before they take effect. If you don’t agree to the change, you can close your account before then. The date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated.
17. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please tell us. Our Complaints and Refund Policy explains how we handle complaints and where you can go if you’re not satisfied.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Any dispute that we cannot settle together may be brought before the courts of Ghana. This does not take away any right you have to bring a claim in the country where you live.
